2008 review, 2009 goals

I am with Lory, no resolutions, only goals for 2009.
1. Work on better fitting of clothes for me.
2. Make about 1/2 of the clothes for the girls.
3. Make a 40's vintage dress and finish the brown one.
4. Try a 50's or 60's dress (step outside the box).
5. A real challenge, a 30's pattern.
6. Learn how to serge better and master more functions on my Bernina.
7. Bound buttonholes/a lightweight jacket or short coat using them.
8. Finish some ufo's and use them or give them away as presents (kids clothes)
9. Become more organized in the home and in sewing.

Now for the review of finished items:
Before this blog and PR and may or may not have photos:
1. Blue paisley skirt and blue/green floral skirt, using "Sew What, Skirts" as a guide:

The paisley is ok, the floral needs adjustment as it is too large in the hips and looks sloppy. Both are basic A-line with elastic waists.
After the blog:
For me:
1. Black cherries dress from a vintage Simplicity wrap dress S3945
2. Green stretch faille top from S4176
3. Black & tan slinky knit from B5216

4. Two tops from S3918 - pink and brown cotton knit and gold/black/brown crepe knit
For oldest:
1. Orange plisse set, two shorts in a dalmation print and a tan girlie camo twill, all from B4176
2. Green sleeveless dress from vintage S4969.
3. Embroidered Denim Jumper from vintage S5223
4. Corduroy Jumper from B6286
5. Flocked taffeta dress from M5742
6. Refashioned capris, using B4176 as a guide.
For baby:
1. Baby romper in plisse from B5439
2. Three versions from NL 6842: red bandanna jumper, corduroy jumper, flocked taffeta dress.
3. 40's retro print with black ruffles from NL 6687. It is a little wrinkled as it was already stored - she has outgrown it. This was one of the 1st things I ever made, started it before she was born.
I think this is it (?). I may have one or two others, not all are on PR, not all have photos. If I find a favorite pattern, I will reuse it more than once. Makes it quicker for the kids clothes.
20 finished garments, not counting quilt tops or baby gifts. Considering my situation with 4 little ones, I think that is pretty good for someone only started sewing clothes about 14 months ago and sewing for about 2 years overall.

Ya'll have a happy new year's eve & we'll catch ya in '09!

Sewing with 4 kids is an accomplishment in itself...for me sewing with 2 is. Happy New Years!
