Andrew is 5!

This little boy is now 5. He is my second oldest child. He has faced 2 months prematurity, a brain hemorrhage at birth, PVL or cysts on the brain causing damage, failure to thrive/gain weight, yet he is cheerful, VERY smart, and demands equal treatment from everyone to be like everyone else (or as much as his body lets him). He is in regular Pre K but gets therapies for his motor skills. He is very articulate and imaginative. We couldn't imagine our life without him, our special needs boy. He has taught us so much about perseverance and he has a lot of love to give. Happy Birthday!

Awwwww, preemie baby stories break my heart. My twins were a month early and weighed in at 5lb a piece. It was touch and go with my pregnancy and they finally induced because they were worried my body couldn't handle the extra 80+ pounds. My girls were only in the NICU for 8 and 10 days but those days were horrible.

Thanks for sharing your story! Your boy is a cutie.
Myra .- children always teach us the best .... that's right. hugs, Paco
